We’ve broken from our traditional fundraising model. Since 2020, BCUW has been raising funds, creating programs, and granting money in Burke County Financial Wellness and Community Resiliency.

* Who is A.l.i.c.e.?

A.L.I.C.E. stands for “Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.” These are families who work and still have to make difficult financial decisions everyday.

  • Self-Sufficiency

    We seek to empower individuals and families (A.L.I.C.E.) to develop plans and goals to move from surviving to thriving through the funding of financial wellness programs, small loan programs, and housing/utility deposit programs.

  • Youth Success & Childcare

    Our Childcare Subsidy Program works to cover the cost of before school, after school, and summer childcare for low-income, working families. We collaborate with local organizations to establish projects that support early learning & family engagement.

  • Housing & Homelessness

    Through collaboration with other community organizations, we strive to increase affordable housing in Burke County by funding workforce housing construction projects and certifying families for eligibility, as well as negating homelessness by addressing our homeless populations needs together with community partners.
