When you give to Burke County United Way, you move local families toward financial stability.
For 70 years, Burke County United Way has brought our community together to help neighbors when they need it most.
Today, 43% of Burke County households are ALICE — working hard but still struggling to cover the basics. Your gift supports financial coaching, emergency assistance, and the local partnerships that help families build a stronger, more stable future.
Help us move 1,000 families toward financial stability by 2032.

Cy Pres Awards
Burke County United Way accepts Cy Pres awards and is grateful for the support that these awards contribute to our community. Cy Pres is a doctrine that permits a court to award any unallocated, unclaimed, or undeliverable funds from a settlement or judgment to a non-profit organization. As a non-profit organization, Burke County United Way is eligible to receive nominations and awards for Cy Pres funding.
If you are considering making a Cy Pres award, please contact Executive Director Maureen “Mo” Schwind at 828-433-0681 ext.3 or by email at executive.director@bcuw.org.
