Free Emergency Preparedness Kits for Burke County Families
When emergencies happen, being prepared makes all the difference. Burke County United Way is partnering with Burke County Emergency Management to give 300 local families a free emergency preparedness kit, valued at more than $60.
Here’s how it works: apply online, then join us on Saturday, November 21 at New Day Christian Church (1023 E Union St, Morganton) for a short Emergency Preparedness Workshop led by Burke County Emergency Management. Right after the workshop, you’ll build your family’s own emergency kit from the supplies we provide.
After you apply, you’ll receive an email with your workshop and kit-building time slot. Kits are limited, so we encourage you to apply early. If we receive more than 300 applications, that interest will help us plan future workshops and kits.
