BURKE’S BEST AND NORTH CAROLINA AWARD FOR
OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER SERVICE
Burke’s Best nominations are now being accepted
through August 14, 2007 for the 2007 North Carolina Awards for Outstanding
Volunteer Service.
This year marks the 29th anniversary of
this program that showcases North Carolina’s most dedicated volunteers. Through
the years, North Carolinians have proven their concern and compassion for their
neighbors by volunteering in their local communities.
Each county selects five individuals, businesses,
and/or groups to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to their
communities. One of the five recipients will be nominated to receive the North
Carolina Outstanding Volunteer Medallion. A local committee evaluates the
nominations. Lynn Doll, Director of Volunteer Services, at J. Iverson Riddle
Developmental Center is the Burke County Coordinator for this year’s award.
Anyone one can nominate an individual, business, or group
