Days of Caring Facts

• Last year we had nearly 100 volunteers from 14 companies give approximately 650 hours of their time.  That volunteer time conservatively helped our community by providing an extra $12,300 to the campaign.

This year’s areas of need-September 8-12

1. To repair the homes of elderly and disabled citizens (build ramps and address other safety issues.) The scope of the project must be something that can be completed in one day. (Clients will be referred from Foothills Service Project waiting list which currently stands at 50) Need 5 teams of 5.
2. To provide meaningful activities of fun and learning to youth engaged in the local Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. (Clients will be referred by BBBS-teams will provide supervision and have fun in one of two projects-A fun day or a lock-in event. Need at least 6 groups of 5.
3. To hold blood drive and screening at your place of business or suitable organization. (Red Cross and ALFA (Optional) will provide staff and technical assistance, groups will provide outreach and supervision for a four to five hour shift) Need teams of 5 to support a one day event.
4. To Conduct clothing and food drives at your place of business during the week to benefit East Burke Christian Ministries, always in short supply of both. Need 5 drives with at least 5 people working 5-10 hours on it in-house for a week to two weeks.
5. Painting the teaching-parent quarters at Phoenix Group Homes. Need 2 groups of 5.
